Mr. Wigglesworth Goes to Church

Some years ago I was introduced to the life & ministry of Smith Wigglesworth. Don't let the name fool ya, this is a man who operated under an incredible anointing of the Holy Spirit. If you are unfamiliar with his writing/sermons, and IF you are serious about your walk with the Lord, do yourself a favor and go pick up a book or two by him and you will be greatly challenged, convicted and encouraged to go deeper with the Lord.
I have his devotional book (which my parents so graciously let me "borrow" - actually I think it can only be called borrow when you intend to return it, which I don't, so I guess you could say they let me take it!), and it is kicking my tail, in a good way! If you know me, you'd know that I say often that my personality is to be "all in" whatever I'm into to. However, I'm beginning to see that God wants every person who claims the name of Christ, to be an "all in" kinda person because only "all in" kind of Christians can actually walk as Jesus and the early followers walked. 1 John 4:17 says, "As He is, so are we in this world". I don't know about you, but I can't say that I see very many believers walking as Jesus & the disciples did because if they, I, were, we would be seeing the sick healed, the dead raised, demons cast out and souls saved.
Smith writes in one of his devotionals, "Jesus left us the responsibility of allowing Him to bring forth through us the greater works (John 14:12). Jesus left His disciples with much and with much more to be added until God receives us in that Day. When we receive power, we must stir ourselves up with the truth that WE are responsible for the need around us. God has given us a great indwelling force of power. If we do not step into our privileges, it is a tragedy."
What I see today are the vast majority of "believers" feeling content with their "fire insurance" and being consumed with their own lives, ignorant of the great need around them, both spiritually as well as physically. It's time that if we really want to do what Jesus did, that we must begin to truly "deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him". I, we need, to "throw off everything that hinders AND the sin that so easily entangles" so that we can RUN our race!
I am yearning to be used of God in a greater way, are you? It's not a question of how much of the Holy Spirit do I have, it's a matter of how much does the Holy Spirit have me?
